The idea for this new spring initiative came to our president, who arrived at work one day very proud of his new Grevillea, a beautiful tropical tree planted thanks to Treedom.
Treedom is a web platform which allows you to plant a tree remotely and follow it online. Since it was founded in 2010, more than 900,000 trees have been planted in Africa, South America, Asia and Italy thanks to the work of local farmers, who are supported by Treedom until the trees become productive.
Each planted tree has a dedicated online page with its location and photographs, and it can be virtually gifted to someone.
We here at Wabbit are committed to ecology and protecting the environment, and we are focussing on reducing waste on a day-to-day basis.
We use very little paper (some of us never even go near the printer), we drink water only in reusable glass bottles supplied by a delivery service, and we have minimised the use of disposable paper towels by having our own personalised hand towels.
We know that whatever the measures we are currently taking to combat climate change are not likely to be enough, but we strongly believe in individual commitment, and that is why we have enthusiastically embraced the chance to plant our favourite trees with Treedom.
We have started by planting ten trees, including Cacao and Arabica Coffee (we are Italian, after all!), and you can also contribute by creating an account and having Treedom plant some of your own favourite species.
